YouTube is an increasingly popular website with over 1.8 billion users every month1, and more people every day are turning to YouTube for their online revision.
That’s why, in no particular order, here are our ‘Top 7 best YouTube channels’ to help you on your way to success.
Science and Maths by Primrose Kitten
Primrose kitten takes a calm and encouraging approach to revision. She does ‘one-hour summaries’ for each science subject, available in paper one and two. This is a great way to understand the key words and points as well as to recap over the paper’s content before an exam. There is also a ‘two-hour maths summary.’
In addition, Primrose kitten talks you through flashcards, quickfire questions and grade 7, 8 and 9 boosters to help your revision and has advice videos for those continuing in further education. Before an exam she posts good luck videos and recaps over a few important points to help you feel prepared.

Free Science Lessons:
Free Science Lessons channel has a teacher-like feel as he presents his videos talking to the camera with a screen behind him which include subtitles and diagrams to help explain the topic.
His videos are 3-5 minutes long and are presented in a clear manner to help you understand the given topic. Key words and ideas are highlighted to help you pick out the most important points.
You can easily find his videos by selecting paper 1 or 2 then looking on his playlists to find the topic you need.
Mr Bruff:
Mr Bruff does English language and English literature videos on his channel. He makes learning fun and memorable with his addictive songs and raps to help you remember quotes.
On a more serious level, he also does in-depth analysis of poetry and explains poetry terms as well as the history behind the poem to achieve those extra context marks.
He also works through ‘student exemplar’ and states the positives and negatives of their work to help you get a wider range of viewpoints and potentially see any mistakes you should avoid in your essays.
Hegarty Maths:
Hegarty Maths upload different levels of maths videos to help those who are trying to understand the complexity of the maths GCSE.
Their playlists are in topics and start off with the basics and as you go through each video the examples get increasingly harder.
They offer AQA and EDEXCELL videos to help those doing either exam board.
Stacey Reay
Stacey Reay offers English language and English literature videos with poetry and various GCSE books available. She talks through PowerPoints and explains different texts with language, definitions, key terms and analysis.
She also does grade 7,8 and 9 in-depth analysis on characters to help you get great notes and alternative interpretations.
